A brilliant electromechanical engineering business based in Byfleet is seeking a talented Buyer to join their friendly, high-performing team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the day-to-day tactical purchasing and supply chain operations that support the production of cutting-edge engineered products.
About the Role:As Buyer, you’ll support a variety of purchasing functions across production, new product introduction, and supplier management. You'll be working closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
This role offers a broad scope with real impact – from placing purchase orders and managing ERP data to driving supplier performance, dual sourcing strategies, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing:Raising and managing POs for production and non-production goods
Working with suppliers to secure quality, on-time deliveries
Managing ERP data for product, supplier, and cost information
Supporting the introduction of new products and supplier qualification
Assisting with supplier audits, quality inspection needs, and export documentation
Mitigating supplier risks and cost increases
Collaborating with engineering on part changes and sourcing alternatives
Experience in a purchasing/procurement or supply chain role, ideally in an engineering or manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of electro-mechanical parts, PCBs, machining, and fabricated components
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and data management
Proactive communicator with strong negotiation and supplier management skills
Detail-oriented with a passion for quality and continuous improvement
