Job description

We are looking for experienced Butchers to run our Butchery Departments as if they were their own business. This is an exciting role where you will work with customers to develop their business, understand your local market, and provide excellent service.

This role offers you the flexibility to operate a butchery business without financial risk. We seek someone with good product knowledge of all meat proteins, self-motivated, and eager to succeed.

Responsibilities include maintaining high standards in stock management, food safety procedures (including record-keeping), managing fresh and pre-packed meat displays, staff morale, and customer satisfaction.

You will collaborate with the Store Manager to develop a business plan supporting sales growth and profitability in your department.

Your duties will also involve greeting customers, providing advice, answering questions, accepting orders, and offering helpful assistance with a smile.

Additional responsibilities include ordering and managing stock (including stocktaking), developing and managing a small team with staff rotas, cutting meat to order, cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment, coordinating deliveries or pickups, and waste control.
