Job description

We are looking for experienced Butchers to run our Butchery Departments as if they were their own business. This exciting role involves working with customers to develop their business, understanding the local market, and providing excellent service.

This position offers the flexibility to operate a butchery business without the financial risk. We seek someone with extensive product knowledge of all meat types, who is self-motivated and eager to succeed.

Responsibilities include maintaining high standards in stock management, food safety procedures (including record-keeping), managing fresh and pre-packed meat displays, staff morale, and customer satisfaction.

You will collaborate with the Store Manager to develop a business plan that supports sales growth and profitability.

Key duties:

  1. Greeting and advising customers, answering questions, accepting orders, and providing helpful service with a smile.
  2. Ordering and managing stock, including stocktaking.
  3. Leading and managing a small team, including staff rotas.
  4. Cutting meat to order.
  5. Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
  6. Coordinating deliveries and pickups.
  7. Controlling waste.
