A leading food wholesaler in the UK is seeking an experienced Butcher to manage their Butchery Department. This role provides the flexibility of running a butchery business while ensuring high standards in stock management and customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong product knowledge, be self-motivated, and possess excellent leadership skills. We are looking for experienced Butchers to run our Butchery Departments like their own business. This is an exciting role where you will work with customers to develop their business, understand your local market, and provide them with great service.
This role offers you the flexibility to run a butchery business without the financial risk. We seek someone with good product knowledge of all meat proteins, who is self-motivated and eager to succeed.
Responsibilities include maintaining high standards in stock management, food safety procedures (including recording information), managing fresh and pre-packed meat displays, staff morale, and customer satisfaction.
You will collaborate with the Store Manager to develop a business plan supporting sales growth and profitability of your department.
Your duties also involve greeting and advising customers, accepting orders, managing stock and stocktaking, developing and managing a small team (including staff rotas), cutting meat to order, cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment, coordinating deliveries or pickups, and controlling waste.
