About the role

We are seeking experienced Butchers to manage our Butchery Departments as if they were their own business. This role involves working with customers to develop their business, understanding the local market, and providing excellent service.

This position offers the flexibility to run a butchery business without financial risk. Candidates should have good product knowledge of all meat types, be self-motivated, and eager to succeed.

You will be responsible for

  • Maintaining high standards in stock management, food safety procedures, meat displays, staff morale, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborating with the Store Manager to develop a business plan to grow sales and profitability.
  • Greeting customers, providing advice, answering questions, accepting orders, and assisting with a friendly attitude.
  • Ordering and managing stock, including stocktaking.
  • Managing a small team, including staff rotas.
  • Cutting meat to order.
  • Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
  • Coordinating deliveries or pickups.
  • Controlling waste.
