Job summary

Holdsworth Foods is seeking a dedicated Butchery Assistant for our Halifax depot. You will assist in the butchery team, produce cuts and joints to order, and ensure accurate weighing and packaging of meat products. You will also handle deliveries and maintain correct storage temperatures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role preferred
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
• Strong knife skills and ability to handle sharp objects safely
• An interest and/or understanding of different cuts of meat and their uses
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with the butchering of meat into required cuts and joints according to customer orders
• Pack meats appropriately
• Weigh and record weights of products as required
• Follow hygiene rules in handling fresh meats
• Receive deliveries and check against orders
• Ensure correct storage and maintain proper temperatures
