Butchery Sales Assistant, Evenings and Weekends

Location: Greens of Ellon

Pay: £10 - £12.21 per hour

Contract: 20 hours per week

Role Overview

The Butchery Sales Assistant role involves maintaining organization, rotation, and cleanliness, ensuring store standards are met, and delivering excellent customer service. We seek colleagues who are proactive, customer-focused, and eager to contribute to one of the best convenience stores in the country. Typical duties include:

• Maintaining organization, rotation, and cleanliness of back stock areas
• Ensuring signing and pricing accuracy
• Preparing, stocking, cutting, weighing, and wrapping meat and seafood products
• Proper product handling to minimize waste and shrinkage
• Inspecting and storing meat upon delivery to ensure quality
• Resolving customer complaints to satisfaction
• Assisting with food preparation, catering, and special orders
• Producing and submitting receiving records timely
• Ordering meat products based on sales and seasonal needs
• Assisting customers in locating items
• Keeping workstation and surrounding area tidy
• Training staff on responsibilities and safety procedures
• Announcing freshly prepared meat products and sales
• Providing high-quality customer service while maintaining productivity
• Unloading trucks, sorting stock, and inspecting merchandise
• Using uptime as a success metric
• Following daily cutting lists and completing work within time frames

Requirements

• Experience in food retail preferred
• Positive attitude and teamwork skills
• Full training provided; experience is not essential
• Willingness to deliver excellent service, passion for retail, and attention to detail
