Role Overview

This is a key role in promoting rail travel as the preferred transport choice for business travel journeys.

This role will lead our engagement with the business travel community and support RDG and the wider rail industry in raising the profile of rail with this key sector, generating advocacy and driving revenue growth.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have strong experience of the business travel sector, with a proven background in commercial/business development/strategic partnerships/account management. Knowledge of the rail industry isn’t essential but a desire to learn about all things rail is!

You will be working in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment and therefore need to have extensive experience of managing stakeholder relationships as well as developing and implementing strategic plans. You will be the face of rail with the business travel sector, representing the interests of business travellers internally and within the wider rail industry, ensuring that business travel requirements feature in our Fares, Ticketing & Retail (FTR) reform plans.

Key Responsibilities

You will be expected to demonstrate a data-driven and performance mindset – to analyse customer and commercial insight and translate it into a strategic plan.

You will need to work collaboratively with other teams within RDG, GBRTT, and Train Operators and will play a leading role in our relationships with key business travel representative bodies.
