Job description

Net Talent are delighted to have partnered with an established haulage firm based in Glasgow as they look to appoint their first Business Systems Manager to work alongside the Group IT Director. This position has been created to keep up with the Group’s continued investment in operational technology to remain at the forefront of their industry.

To do so they have put in place a business systems strategy to ensure their operations are data driven while being fully integrated across the group. This has created the need for a dedicated person to lead on the continuous improvement of business systems across the group. The initial scope will to be involved in a Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation.

This role is central to the continued success and will help our client unlock new opportunities, improve performance, and deliver superior value to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive business system improvement projects from start to finish, aligning with strategic goals working closely with business stakeholders.
  • Drive the development and execution of a detailed roadmap for the Dynamics 365 Business Central platform.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for group-wide BI and MI reporting, identifying key metrics across the business to provide insights on.
  • Conduct in-depth business analysis to assess current processes, identify challenges, and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Translate business requirements into system specifications and functional designs.
  • Develop project plans, manage timelines, allocate resources, and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Serve as the product owner for Dynamics 365 Business Central, advocating for the business in system-related decisions.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants.
  • Coordinate with the internal development team or external vendors on software development efforts, ensuring solutions are delivered as per requirements.

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrable track record of delivering business systems improvement such as leading the integration of ERP systems with other line of business systems.
  • Proven experience in business analysis, with the ability to translate business needs into deliverables.
  • Strong project management skills having led cross-functional projects.
  • Experience managing relationships with external vendors and consultants.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.

Compensation: As a newly created role, we do not have a defined salary and in order to prevent ourselves from missing out, we do not yet have a set salary budget in place.
