Business Support to NUH Executive Directors (Newham University Hospital)

We are looking for an experienced Business Support to work closely with and support the Executive Directors (Newham University Hospital) and team.

The ideal candidate will provide high quality and proactive executive assistance to Executive Directors. They will be required to be a self-starter who is able to work on their own initiative, anticipating the organisational needs of the Executive Directors, directing their own work and delivering reliably and accurately, within deadlines.

The post holder will be required to contribute towards high standards of corporate governance at Newham University Hospital through the provision of a full range of secretarial services to key Hospital Committees; coordination and administration of policy development process and assisting with the implementation of the Trust Governance arrangements.

Interview Date: March 2025

As part of the interview, each candidate will be asked to take assessment tests relating to the role. There is no preparation required for the tests and full instructions will be given at the interview.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience
  • Experience of working with directors as an assistant, preferably within an acute trust environment
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Must have an understanding of the background to the NHS and appreciate the implications of this for this role
  • Understand the relationships and matrix of the Barts Health Group, stakeholders, individual provider and commissioning organisations
  • A minimum of three years previous experience in a senior secretarial/PA role
