Job summary

Doncaster City Council is seeking two Business Support Officers to join the Youth Service team. Based at City-Wide, you will support locality-based teams delivering youth offers and provide high-quality administrative support to ensure timely access to information, advice and guidance for children, young people and families.

You will manage records, coordinate meetings, handle sensitive information, and use digital systems to support early-help delivery.

Salary Details: Grade 5 - £25,584 pro-rata (pay award pending)

Contract Type: Temporary, Full Time (funded until 31 March 2027, possible extended funding)

Hours: 37 & 22.5 hours per week

This is an exciting opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and support our locality-based teams to effectively deliver our youth offer.

Doncaster Council are seeking a motivated and organised Business Support Officer to join our Youth Service team. This role will play a vital part in supporting the delivery of our all-age, people-centred approach through the locality model. You will assist to support the wider team to ensure that children, young people and families receive timely access to information, advice and guidance and early intervention support.

As a Business Support Officer, you will provide high-quality administrative and operational support across the team. You will contribute to the smooth running of the early help offer by co-ordinating information along with other administrative tasks. Your role will be essential in ensuring effective communication with key stakeholders, maintaining key systems and supporting the team to deliver responsive and well-coordinated early help support.

Key duties will include managing and updating records, uploading records onto systems, preparing documentation, organising meetings, creating and distributing meeting agendas along with minute taking. You will also support and provide general administrative assistance to help the service operate efficiently.

The successful candidates will have experience of providing administrative or business support within a busy team environment, ideally within a children’s, families’ or community‑focused setting. You will be confident working with a range of partners, handling sensitive information, and using digital systems to ensure accuracy and compliance. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise a varied workload are essential. An understanding of early help processes, safeguarding thresholds and multi‑agency working would be an advantage.
