Job Description:

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about providing excellent support in a dynamic environment? We are seeking a dedicated Business Support Assistant to join our team and play a vital role in supporting our Building & Housing Services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Invoice Processing: Manage and process invoices for Building & Housing Services, including those from stores. Ensure invoices are correctly authorized, batched for payment within corporate timescales, and handle supplier queries and outstanding invoices.
  2. Order Raising: Assist in raising orders with agreed suppliers and support the Business Support Co-ordinator – Operations in procuring materials and supplies following the Council’s procurement policy.
  3. Supplier Network Management: Help manage and maintain a network of suppliers for building services, ensuring best value.
  4. Job Progression Facilitation: Process information/data from mobile working systems to facilitate job progression from initiation to completion and payment of general orders. Update and process information for non-mobile working in the same context.
  5. Employee Records Maintenance: Maintain relevant employee records, including timesheets, flexible working, leave, sickness absence, and training information.
  6. Data Management: Assist in controlling, managing, and maintaining statistical data for performance and benchmarking purposes. Support the provision of management and financial reporting.
  7. Financial Handling: Support the Business Support Co-ordinator Operations by ensuring car parking monies are counted and prepared for collection by G4S in a timely manner.
  8. Customer Support: Provide customer-facing support for building maintenance services across schools, corporate properties, and public housing. Perform general office duties, including administration, customer care, consultation, surveys, and complaints management.
  9. Compliance: Ensure adherence to the Council’s Financial Regulations, Standing Orders, Policies, and Procedures.
  10. Equal Opportunity: Implement the principles of the Council’s Equal Opportunity Policy in all duties.
  11. Health and Safety: Adhere to Health and Safety legislation and Council policies, ensuring reasonable care for your own and others' health and safety.
  12. Environmental Policy: Apply the principles of the Council's Environment Policy while performing duties.
  13. Additional Duties: Undertake other duties commensurate with the grade and job character as reasonably required by the Chief Officer.
  14. Safeguarding: Report any safeguarding concerns promptly to the appropriate Safeguarding Officer.

Requirements:

  1. Valid and active NMC Registration.
  2. 6 Months proven experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse with Rehab expertise.
  3. Excellent knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Empathetic, caring, and dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.
  6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
  7. Attention to detail and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
