Job Description
The Business Support Officer role supports the Looked After Children (LAC) service within the Children’s Services team in East Sussex. The role involves administration, data analysis, project support, and communication to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations. The post also includes managing a team of Senior Business Administrators, overseeing workload and supporting remote and office-based staff.
Working closely with managers, schools, and health professionals, the Business Support Officer provides high-level business and technical support—including financial reconciliation and project coordination—to help safeguard children and enhance their life chances. The role requires a confident professional with strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to leadership and service delivery.
This role is characterised by its essential, behind-the-scenes contribution to a vital public service. Your strong organisational, communication, and IT skills will help to support the work of child protection and safeguarding professionals.
