Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a motivated Business Support Officer for a residential care home in Nottingham. You will deliver high-quality admin support, act as a front-line contact for residents, families and visitors, and help manage records and small financial transactions.

The role is permanent, onsite, 37 hours per week, with a starting salary of £25,583 to £26,403 per annum. Hybrid options may apply and a DBS check is required.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and organised individual to join our team at a Nottingham City Council residential care home. This is a varied and rewarding role that plays a vital part in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy care setting.

As a Business Support Officer, you will provide high-quality administrative support to the home, acting as a key point of contact for residents, families, professionals and visitors. Responsibilities will include answering telephone calls, responding to office enquiries, managing correspondence and ensuring administrative processes are completed accurately and efficiently.

Additional duties will include photocopying, printing, filing and archiving documents, ordering equipment and supplies, maintaining records and supporting the management of small financial transactions. You will also assist with the processing, monitoring and auditing of information to ensure compliance with organisational procedures and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, have excellent communication and customer service skills, and be able to manage a varied workload in a professional and confidential manner. Previous administrative experience is desirable, along with good IT skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English, is an essential requirement for the role.
  • A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
