Kent County Council is seeking a full-time Business Support Officer for its LADO Education Safeguarding Advisory Service in Maidstone. The role involves providing vital administrative support to ensure the efficient operations of the safeguarding team, requiring strong organizational and communication skills. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Business Support Officer (BSO) to provide administrative support in our LADO Education Safeguarding Advisory Service (LESAS) within the Safeguarding, Quality Assurance and Professional Standards Unit. The LESAS team builds upon the statutory LADO function for the whole of the children’s workforce and supports education settings (early years settings, childminders, schools, and colleges) in Kent who work with children aged 0-18 to meet their safeguarding responsibilities and respond to safeguarding concerns.
As part of a small administration team, you will play an integral role in providing administrative support to the wider LESAS team, made up of experienced social work and education professionals who have a thorough understanding of key local and national legislation and statutory guidance related to safeguarding and education safeguarding practice. In this role you will ensure the LADO Education Safeguarding Advisory Service is able to fulfil their functions as efficiently as possible.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
