Your new company

Due to the partnership between Hays and Birmingham City Council, we are looking to recruit a Business Support Officer to join the Children and Families Directorate.

Your new role

In this job, you will be responsible for managing cases for children who are missing education due to medical reasons or exclusions.

You will also be required to conduct minute taking during the meetings that occur on a regular basis. Furthermore, regular inbox management is vital to ensure all queries are handled and responded to.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need experience of working in a busy administrative environment where you can prioritise workload. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, empathy, listening and patience. Moreover, you will need to be comfortable taking minutes during meetings. Previous experience in a local authority is desirable and beneficial.

In addition, this role will be an ASAP start, which before starting you will need to pass your reference and compliance checks. Upon registration, please have your two most recent employment details available for reference checks.

This is a full-time, temporary job based in Birmingham. This is a rolling contract, Grade 3 position, with the rate of £13.45 (PAYE), paid on a weekly basis.
