Business Support Officer – Buckinghamshire

iPeople SC Solutions is recruiting a Business Support Officer to work for our client based in Buckinghamshire.

A local authority located in Berkshire is looking for an experienced Referral Officer to join their Adult Social Care Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and develop administrative processes and project support, coordinating responses to inquiries from stakeholders.
  • Co-ordinate and allocate tasks to specially qualified practitioners and professionals to undertake required assessments and to oversee the complete process.
  • Maintain robust working relationships with Care Home managers, Hospital staff, other relevant professionals, and individuals’ families, functioning as the face of the DoLS Team.
  • Assist the Team Manager in the timely payment of invoices where applicable.
  • Gather relevant information from the referrer and other involved agencies to inform decision-making within the prescribed timescales.
  • Receive, log, and progress referrals from Hospitals, Care Homes, Nursing homes, and other professionals, where it is believed to be, or likely to be, a Deprivation of a Person’s Liberty occurring; thus raising a duty on the Supervisory Body (the Local Authority) to provide assessment, intervention, and authorization to ensure that individuals' rights are upheld and promoted within the legal framework of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
  • Maintain manual or electronic systems, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
About You
  • Previous administration experience working within a DOLs team or within Adult Social Care.
  • Strong IT knowledge, including experience in using Microsoft Office with the ability to produce reports and presentations within Excel and Word.
  • Highly organized and able to manage time effectively, prioritize work with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
