We have an opportunity for a Business Support Officer within Children’s Services. This exciting post will be working within our new ‘One Children’s Service’ which encompasses both Education and Social Care. As such, there will be a huge variety in terms of duties to be undertaken and knowledge gained from within a forward-thinking and highly supportive team.
The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of the service and have good administrative skills, including IT, minute taking, and general office administration. A sound knowledge of Microsoft applications would be an advantage. In addition to this the candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to prioritise work, be organised and committed to providing an excellent service in a challenging and fast paced environment.
The successful candidate will benefit from working with a highly supportive and encouraging team. Essential:
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to cope with a wide range of tasks within a short time scale and work to deadlines.

- Effective ICT skills.
- As this post meets the requirements of the Immigration Act 2016 (part 7), the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
Knowledge
Essential:
- Experience of working with a range of IT software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Edge.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- Educated to O Level/GCSE standard (or equivalent).
- Experience of working within a team.
- Experience of working in a busy office using a range of administration procedures.
- Experience of dealing with a range of enquiries both on the telephone and face to face.
