Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Business Support Officer within Integrated Children’s Services, Virtual School Kent Team. The post is based at Worrall House with some home working. If you would like to be part of a busy team supporting the children and families of Kent, then this could be the position for you.

Role Overview

Business Support Officers play a vital role in supporting front-line teams and practitioners across Children's Social Work, Youth Justice, Adoption, VSK, Fostering, and School Attendance & Inclusion. The Business Support Service provides professional administrative support across Integrated Children's Services, with aims to:

  1. Deliver an integrated and highly effective business support service.
  2. Ensure children, young people, and families are at the heart of everything we do.
  3. Work together, share knowledge, and support each other.
  4. Innovate and improve.
  5. Promote continuous personal and professional development.
Candidate Requirements

You should have good proficiency in ICT systems (MS Applications, Databases, etc.) and be confident dealing with multi-disciplinary professionals while working to deadlines in a demanding environment. The role emphasizes your drive, potential, and aptitude for learning; comprehensive induction and training will be provided.

Key Skills and Responsibilities

In a confidential environment, you will be adept at taking high-standard minutes, possess strong administrative and IT skills, and be able to collate and manage data. You should be proactive in prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines and confident in engaging with multi-disciplinary professionals on sensitive matters. The role requires independent working, teamwork, willingness to travel across the County, and attendance at meetings and training as needed.
