Location: Thurrock Council

Contract: 3+ months (initial)

Pay: £20 per hour (umbrella)

Are you an organised, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills? Thurrock Council is seeking a Business Support Officer to join its Commercial and Traded Services team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality services to schools, academies, and early years settings.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the main point of contact within Commercial and Traded Services, ensuring smooth delivery of support to education and early years providers.
  • Coordinate and oversee the Services to Schools offer, including organising meetings, managing action logs, maintaining records, ensuring compliance, and resolving issues.
  • Carry out quality checks in SLA Online to ensure accuracy and consistency of information, track performance, and generate reports.
  • Provide project support for Libraries and Service Providers, including arranging meetings and events, updating project documentation, and liaising with staff and partner agencies.
  • Manage and maintain the SLA Online platform by updating content, administering user accounts, handling site administration and promotion, reviewing annual pricing, and working with finance on invoicing and payment records.
