Job description

About the Role:

As a Business Support Officer, the primary reporting line will be to the General Manager; however, the role includes close working relationships with Supervisors and Administrators.

  • Ensure best practice for the control and audit of van stocks, fleet arrangements, plant, all working at height activities, and waste disposal.
  • Office-based and Health & Safety compliance administration.
  • Support onboarding and induction of new employees.
  • Set up operatives' Toolbox talks, ensuring they are scheduled in their diaries.
  • Support Health & Safety training, ensuring completion.
  • Scan and save compliance documents.
  • Order office supplies and uniforms.

Role Criteria:

  • Experience working in an office environment.
  • Experience working to tight deadlines in a busy office setting.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume, sometimes challenging environment.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Good timekeeping.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

All roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work in the UK. Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

To drive a Mears vehicle, candidates must be over 21, have held their license for over 3 months, and have fewer than 9 points.

All roles are subject to relevant DBS/Security checks before employment begins.
