About the role

Join Cambridgeshire Libraries and help support a service that connects people with reading, learning, culture and their local communities.

We're looking for an organised, proactive and collaborative Business Officer to provide administrative support across the Cambridgeshire Libraries Service, including The Library Presents; our award-winning arts programme that brings high-quality performances and creative workshops into libraries across the county. The programme is shaped by local communities and makes arts and culture accessible, affordable and welcoming for everyone. It is funded by Arts Council England and delivered by Cambridgeshire County Council in partnership with cultural organisations.

This is a part-time job share role. You'll work closely with your job share partner and colleagues across the Libraries Service, so excellent communication, organisation and teamwork are essential. We're looking for someone who enjoys sharing information, maintaining continuity and building positive working relationships to ensure a seamless service.

What will you be doing?

As Business Officer, you'll be at the heart of the team's day-to-day operations, helping ensure our services run smoothly. From coordinating meetings and maintaining accurate records to supporting financial processes and responding to enquiries, you'll provide high-quality administrative support that enables colleagues to deliver excellent services for our communities.

You'll also support The Library Presents, helping the team deliver an exciting programme of performances, workshops and community engagement activities that transform libraries into vibrant cultural spaces across Cambridgeshire.

No two days are the same, so you'll need to be adaptable, organised and confident managing a varied workload while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

About you

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in an administrative or business support role.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional approach.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, including maintaining effective handovers within a job share arrangement.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience of maintaining accurate electronic records.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience of providing excellent customer service and responding sensitively to enquiries.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

Experience of financial administration or working within local government would be an advantage but is not essential.
