Key Requirements:

  1. Relevant level 3 qualification e.g. NVQ level 3, BTEC, relevant A levels etc. and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and understanding through experience.
  2. Working knowledge of business support systems and procedures.
  3. Experience in a business or corporate environment is preferred.
  4. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

We currently need two Business Support Officers to provide administrational support for the Council's School Appeals Process. The work will involve preparing information packs for parents/carers and panel members to hear school appeals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide a range of business support services for one or more service areas, taking ownership and responsibility.
  2. Make real time service decisions in response to operational issues in line with local procedures and established guidance.
  3. Demonstrate the council’s values: Dedicated, Respect, Ownership, Curious, Collaborative.
  4. Carry out specific administrative tasks requiring a discrete skill or in-depth knowledge base.
  5. Respond to enquiries from internal and external customers and stakeholders including escalated issues, resolving at the point of contact where possible.
