Job description

We are seeking a Business Skills Coach to join our friendly team, delivering high-quality training programs to develop apprentices' knowledge, skills, and behaviors for our Level 3 and 5 Leadership and Management Program.

Your responsibilities include completing apprentice learning, assessments, reviews, and completions efficiently, aiming to exceed quality standards. You will support every aspect of the learner journey, from preparing for the Gateway to providing professional feedback, ensuring each apprentice achieves their standards and qualifications.

Location: This role offers a hybrid working model, allowing remote work with occasional travel to customer sites and our Pearson office in central London. Travel expenses will be reimbursed, and candidates should be within easy commute distance due to travel requirements.

Core tasks and responsibilities:

  1. Develop and deliver personalized learning programs to support apprentices in acquiring necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviors.
  2. Contribute to assessment, eligibility, onboarding, and induction processes to record apprentices' starting points accurately.
  3. Provide coaching, arrange visits, and support apprentices in developing workplace skills essential for qualification completion.
  4. Assess apprentices against criteria, offer constructive feedback, and utilize e-portfolios effectively.
  5. Conduct assessments within set timeframes, monitor progress, and gather evidence for qualifications.
  6. Use e-portfolios and virtual learning environments to support learning and development.
  7. Deliver both face-to-face and virtual classroom sessions to coach in business and management skills.
  8. Track progress, conduct formal reviews, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  9. Maintain accurate records across systems and support ongoing program development.
  10. Engage in CPD activities, attend meetings, and support other qualifications or programs as needed.

Qualifications and experience:

  1. Qualified trainer and assessor with experience in Level 3 and 5 Apprenticeships and Qualifications.
  2. Industry experience in a senior management role.
  3. Effective management of learners and caseloads.
  4. Proficiency in utilizing technology to enhance service delivery.
  5. Demonstrated excellence as a trainer/assessor, supported by OTLA and standardization observations.
  6. Track record of achieving targets in a target-driven environment.
  7. Strong written skills for detailed feedback and objective setting.
  8. Experience with Level 5 Coaching Professional Apprenticeships and understanding of Ofsted inspections and ESFA funding are desirable but not essential.

Additional notes:

This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; an enhanced DBS disclosure will be required.
