We’re looking for a Business Services Co-ordinator to join us at Ightham Mote and Knole. You’ll provide efficient, proactive and flexible business services support across both properties, delivered to a consistently high standard.
You’ll be reporting to the Business Services Lead, supporting and working with staff and volunteer teams across both sites and providing excellent service to visitors.
This is a full-time role. As the properties are open 363 days a year, occasional weekend working (typically 1 day per month) and a proportion of bank holiday working will be required.

Ightham Mote is a beautiful 700-year-old moated manor house, surrounded by stunning gardens and over 500 acres of freely accessible estate. Romantic and picturesque, it’s nestled in the Kent countryside between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks. Knole sits proudly in the heart of Sevenoaks. The estate boasts historic showrooms with a world-class collection of paintings and furniture, sprawling courtyards, gatehouse tower and conservation studio set in a 1000-acre medieval deer park. The National Trust is a vibrant and fast-moving organisation, where no two days are the same. If you enjoy variety and thrive in a busy environment, you'll play a key role in helping our places run smoothly and efficiently. As part of the Business Services team, you'll provide a wide range of administrative and operational support across the property. Your responsibilities will include managing records, systems and processes, coordinating group bookings and events, handling visitor enquiries, processing banking activities, supporting soft facilities management, and producing finance reports and other essential administration. You'll use your knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Excel and Copilot, to work efficiently and effectively. You'll also be confident learning and using the National Trust's systems and processes to maintain accurate records and support day-to-day operations. Working with minimal supervision, you'll use your initiative to manage competing priorities, make routine decisions, and ensure tasks are completed to a high standard. You'll support colleagues across the property, providing guidance on business processes and helping to ensure national systems and procedures are followed consistently. You'll also help coordinate and support office volunteers, enabling them to contribute effectively to the work of the team. Building positive relationships will be an important part of the role. You'll work closely with local supporter groups, contractors, suppliers and other external contacts, providing excellent customer service and ensuring effective communication. As a collaborative team player, you'll always be looking for opportunities to support colleagues beyond your immediate team and, on busier days, you'll be happy to step away from the office to assist visitors and help deliver a great experience for everyone who comes to the property. You'll champion best practice in business support, looking for ways to improve systems and processes and helping the team work as efficiently as possible.
