Essex Police and Kent Police are seeking a Business Services Assistant to join the busy Business Centre at Great Dunmow. The role delivers finance, HR and transactional support across both forces, handling high volumes of telephone and email enquiries, and ensuring actions meet Service Level Agreements.
Permanent, full-time, Mon-Fri 0800-1700 with occasional evenings/weekends; starting salary £25,242 (pro-rata for part-time).

Based at Great Dunmow Police Station, permanent vacancies are available across the core hours of 0800 - 1700 Monday to Friday however, there is a requirement to work some evening and weekends on occasions. The Business Centre is a large busy department providing a wide range of shared support services to Police Officers, PCSO's, Special Constabulary and other support staff within both the Essex Police and Kent Police forces.
Successful candidates will join our existing teams managing challenging demands and deadlines responsible for responding to high levels of telephone and email enquiries. You will be providing advice and guidance, processing actions to meet Service Level Agreements to update and administer electronic records and providing a wide range of finance, human resources and other transactional support functions in order to deliver an effective and efficient service to operational policing and a range of other support teams.

The role will offer flexibility in terms of place of work, including some home working. The extent of flexibility will be agreed through individual assessment with the line manager to assess operational requirements and individual's suitability for home working.
Successful applicants for this role will be defined as an Office based Agile Worker: Office based agile working with designated team area . Works predominantly (60% or more) in one office space. The rest of the time works at home or at other police site locations.
Kent Police and Essex Police have separate salary grading systems therefore the salary for this position will be dependent on which home office force you are appointed to. This will be discussed with the successful applicant before a final offer is made.
