If so, we have an exciting opportunity to progress into the Grand Central Safety team as a Business Safety Specialist on a permanent contract. We are looking for a talented individual who is highly motivated and proactive with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

This position can be based out of any of our locations including Wakefield, York, or Sunderland.

What will I be doing as a Business Safety Specialist?

  • Coordinate and provide operations and safety guidance at traincrew depots, offices, and maintenance depots.
  • Supporting accident and incident investigations whilst ensuring all documentation related to incidents are obtained from managers and traincrew.
  • Provide technical safety support.
  • Collate driver safety performance information and support the production of the Grand Central safety performance report.
  • Coordinate the development of specific company-wide or local risk management and safe system of work processes for all departments and employees.
  • Support the annual audit plan.
  • Support all operational, safety, and environmental training requirements for GC staff to include briefing packs and bulletins.

What will I need to be successful as a Business Safety Specialist?

  • NEBOSH certificate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of operations rules, regulations, instructions including company policies and standards for safe operations.
  • Previous experience in an operational role.
  • Ability to use your initiative and work as part of a team.
  • Industry recognised accident/incident investigation and root cause analysis is desirable.
  • Industry recognised training qualification is desirable.
