Grade E £32,115 - £36,124 per annum
Grade F £36,124 - £40,476 per annum
Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service is recruiting a Business Safety Officer eligible for an Apprenticeship program, serving the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales areas based at Buxton Fire Station.
The successful candidate will complete a Fire Safety Level 3 Apprenticeship, involving training courses, gaining skills, and contributing to the Fire Safety strategy.
We seek a positive, creative, and motivated individual to help develop our fire safety services, ensuring high standards of fire safety protection for Derbyshire residents.
Your role includes supporting businesses to comply with fire safety legislation, developing web and social media content, establishing links with local business networks, and conducting inspections and follow-up activities.
You will also assist in fire safety consultations, support owners and occupiers in compliance, and respond to fire incidents and complaints. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are essential.
A basic understanding of risk-based fire safety legislation is required, and you will undergo structured external fire safety training. Opportunities for career progression are available, and role-related training will be provided.
A full UK manual driving license is essential, and work may be performed at various locations with a pool car provided. The standard workweek is 37 hours, Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends.
