Client - Risk Officer – Regulatory Mapping & Reporting (AVP)

This role will report into the Regulations Management Lead (BAU) (C14) and will be responsible for implementing key processes and establishing governance around business as usual ‘Regulations Mapping’ process, as well as providing reporting capabilities across the regulations management process. The role will also work closely with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd LoD teams to enhance the business’s control framework to ensure compliance with applicable Laws, Rules, and Regulations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with strong data and reporting skills, a keen interest in regulations management, and establishing robust processes and governance aligned with Citi Client’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a First Line Risk Officer role supporting the Citi Client business unit in its entirety. The primary responsibilities include coordinating and monitoring that the business units are mapped to applicable regulations and verifying that business teams have appropriate controls to comply with these regulatory requirements. Additionally, the role involves developing and implementing reporting solutions to improve management visibility across the regulations management process.

The role requires engaging with multiple business teams under the Citi Client organization, Independent and Product Compliance Risk teams, and Subject Matter Experts (“SMEs”) to coordinate and monitor the regulatory mapping workflow.

Regulations mapping:

  • Coordinate and monitor progress of each stage of the regulatory mapping process, challenge adequacy and timeliness of remediation based on KPIs and due dates, using Citi tools, platforms, and systems.
  • Escalate overdue tasks to senior management following governance and escalation protocols.
  • Support Citi Client business teams in creating remediation plans for regulatory non-compliance.
  • Coordinate engagement between Citi teams and Independent Compliance controls teams as needed.
  • Ensure controls, monitoring, and reporting are adequate over the Regulations Management process.

One-off regulatory assessments:

  • Coordinate and monitor timely completion of Client involvement in one-time reviews of Laws, Rules, and Regulations as requested by relevant Country and Product Compliance teams.
  • Work with the Client organization to ensure appropriate controls for compliance.

Regulations Management reporting:

  • Produce and communicate periodic or one-off reports with key status updates for senior managers and teams.
  • Spearhead efforts to improve or automate periodic Regulations Management reporting.
  • Produce and report metrics for various Citi Client committees or forums.

Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in business risk & controls, corporate governance, or assurance domains.
  • Strong data skills, including experience with Macros, Excel, Advanced Excel, formulas, pivots, V-Lookup, etc.; basic Tableau knowledge is preferable.
  • Proven experience in producing presentations/dashboards for management reporting.
  • Ability to operate independently with limited oversight, following a “no surprises” approach.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, professional judgment, and the ability to challenge the status quo.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive and collaborative work style in fast-paced, dynamic environments across different locations and seniority levels.
