Hours:Full Time 37 hours per week

Working Style: Your workstyle will be a mobile hybrid worker in this role which gives you the flexibility to work from home and from a variety of Council workplaces.

We are currently seeking a motivated individual with experience in building strategic relationships and acting as a digital ambassador to join our team as a Business Relationship Officer. The team was formed in 2023 to help deliver digital services DDAT strategy by creating close working relationships across all levels of the council.

Below are selected examples of projects the team have been involved in, demonstrating our commitment to innovation, user-centric design, and operational excellence across digital infrastructure and service delivery initiatives

Sims Connected -Cloud Migration Programme

Led a multi-disciplinary programme of work to migrate the SIMS platform from a centralized on-premise solution to a cloud-only model tailored for individual schools. Oversaw communications, stakeholder engagement, and scheduling across multiple institutions, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption to educational operations.

Communications Hub $ú Proof of Concept

Involved in the development and evaluation of a proof of concept for a Communications Hub aimed at streamlining the delivery and management of audio-visual content. Collaborated with cross-functional teams to assess user needs, define technical requirements, and validate the solution&s potential to enhance content accessibility and operational efficiency.

Residential Care Home Onboarding

Played a key role in the onboarding of a new residential care home, focusing on the specification and delivery of digital infrastructure and services. Ensured alignment with resident needs and care outcomes by integrating user-centric design principles and working closely with stakeholders to deliver a future-proof, supportive digital environment.

Currently contributing to a multi-disciplinary programme of work at Pontardawe Arts Centre, delivering modern digital infrastructure and services. Supporting the centre&s mission to enhance community engagement and cultural access through improved connectivity, AV systems, and digital service delivery.

The Business Relationship Team work within a fast-paced changing environment with the opportunity to involved in the latest technologies and methods to deliver excellence services NPT residents and businesses.

As a Business Relationship Officer, you will report to the Business Relationship manager, the post holder will directly support service areas, acting as the Intelligent Client Function, to understand theiroperational and developmental needs.Building strategic relationships are key to help ensure that the services and projects delivered meet our users' needs. The post holder will be a Digital ambassador, actively involved with embracing and leading change, along with being outcome focused, putting Neath Port Talbot residents at the very heart of everything we do and every decision we take.

Your daily routine will include

  • Working as part of a team that manages the relationship between Digital Services, council services and partners.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor and the main point of liaison between service areas and Digital Services, ensuring that our services and the projects planned and delivered meet the user need and service requirements, driving high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Developing solutions and approaches, often complex, in line with the digital strategy and use a deep understanding of the needs of both users and services areas to influence the delivery roadmap and portfolio of projects.
  • Contributing to the successful transition of new or changed solutions into service, ensuring that roles and responsibilities are agreed between service areas and Digital Services.
  • Working with service areas to understand their changing requirements and potential complex challenges, identifying creative ways of helping which may include system changes or configuration amendments, user training or improvements to processes and procedures.

About you:

Do you have:

  • HNC or equivalent occupational experience.
  • Hold a formal qualification business management e.g Agile, ITIL, Prince2 or process management.
  • Experience of working in a similar role and be able to demonstrate an understanding of translating business needs into proposed solutions.
  • Experience of building positive relationships with a range of both internal and external stakeholders, including an understanding of political drivers and the role of Members.
  • Experience of understanding technical and digital solutions, how they are used across the organisation and the impact they have on the lives of our communities.
  • Experience of championing change and supporting those around you to embrace digital ways of working.
  • Ability to listen actively, even when you disagree with someone, making every effort to empathise with their viewpoint.
  • Able to lead investigative work into problems and opportunities in existing processes, driving the collection of information and creation of recommendations for improvements
