We are currently searching for an experienced Business Platforms Support Engineer to be part of our Platforms Technology team. The Business Platforms team takes primary responsibility for the administration and configuration of our Finance and HR Platforms, supporting business-critical processes across Peoplesoft Financials and Sage People.

We work closely with our Finance & HR colleagues to provide dedicated business partnering and support to the business. We are focused on improving integrations between systems and implementing new modules, tools, and software across HR, Payroll, P2P, O2C, Accounting, and FP&A functions.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a business-critical team supporting our internal colleagues on Platforms essential to the day-to-day operations of The Economist Group.

Accountabilities

1. You’ll have a proven track record of successful delivery experience.

2. You’ll be comfortable presenting concepts to a variety of stakeholders to ensure the most appropriate solution is delivered.

3. You’ll be a hands-on technical engineer supporting the delivery of solutions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, with strong communication and collaboration skills.

4. You’ll be an energetic and creative problem solver with technical curiosity to leverage evolving technology for solving emerging challenges.

5. You will have experience supporting a delivery plan to meet agreed timelines.

6. You will play a key role in producing and maintaining the technical artifacts needed to deliver our solutions, ensuring they meet high-quality standards.

7. Build strong relationships with HR stakeholders.

8. Be fully aware of upcoming releases and how the company can capitalize on new functionalities.

Experience, skills, and professional attributes

Essential:

1. Experience of implementing, supporting, and developing HR systems such as Sage People, Workday, Oracle, PeopleSoft.

2. Strong knowledge of HR processes.

3. Knowledge of the architecture used to support business applications.

4. Experience with system integrations.

5. Strong reporting and analytical skills.

6. Ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and HR Operations.

7. Experience and understanding of the application delivery lifecycle.

8. Ability to manage multiple priorities.

9. Excellent spoken and written English.

10. Excellent listening skills.

Desired:

1. Experience with Salesforce Platform.

2. Sage People HR Manager Certification.

3. Sage People Systems Administrator Certification.

4. Experience with Jira for service desk and project management.
