As Deputy Manager, you will work in collaboration with the Store Manager to maximise profit, lead the team, deliver seamless operations, and ensure the success of our store.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review sales, operations, and digital performance weekly to identify priorities and drive improvements.
- Focus on delivering great availability and cost controls through excellent processes.
- Create a culture of 'sell a £, save a £' to maximise store sales and profit.
- Deliver on all KPIs.
- Support the Store Manager with Talking Shop initiatives and work well with representatives.
- Drive team engagement through effective communication, appreciation, and respect.
- Foster an inclusive culture where everyone can excel at work.
- Upskill the team using available resources, development options, and on-the-job coaching.
- Manage performance through continuous conversations and performance processes.
Doing the right processes and doing them right:
- Model proactive service in-store and at the doorstep.
- Ensure cash handling and security policies are fully implemented.
- Deliver the best digital service by implementing all One Best Way processes.
- Ensure compliance with legal, health, and safety policies to minimise risks.
Leadership:
- Lead by example to motivate the team and provide excellent customer service.
- Be approachable and respectful to customers and colleagues.
- Work with enthusiasm and reduce waste.
- Take responsibility for store operations, colleagues, and customers in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Communicate effectively through regular conversations and active listening.
- Prioritise tasks and plan ahead.
- Set the pace of the team by being hands-on.
- Make sound decisions to solve problems.
- Coach team members to improve performance.
- Delegate tasks appropriately.
- Motivate the team to maintain operational standards.
