Job summary

Reed in Partnership is seeking a Business Manager to lead and motivate a Progression Coach team, overseeing caseloads of unemployed job seekers and ensuring high-quality service delivery. This office-based role will involve travel across Essex & Hertfordshire.

We are building a talent pipeline for upcoming contracts and will begin formal recruitment soon. The role emphasizes ownership, collaboration, and delivering results, with opportunities for training, development funds, and progression

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of strategies to upskill local community members and remove barriers to employment
  • Monitor and manage office and individual performance against KPIs
  • Manage, motivate, and direct staff to meet performance targets
  • Oversee staff development including performance management and coaching
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maximise referrals and employment opportunities
  • Manage Profit and Loss and monthly financial forecasting

£34,750 - £43,000

Working Hours/Pattern:

Full-time, although we would be happy to consider applicants who are looking to work on a part time basis. Please note our ability to accommodate flexible working arrangements will vary from role to role, dependent on business requirements.

The new Confident Futures programme, funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP),is designed to support Universal Credit claimants with long-term health conditions. It is a voluntary programme focused on helping participants move closer to work by improving confident, wellbeing, skills,stabilityand readiness for work.

What is the role about?

The Business Manageris responsible forleading and motivating a team ofProgression Coachesto support caseloads of unemployed job seekers with intensive personal support, ensuring high-quality service delivery and adherence to performance targets. This role will require you to oversee daily operations, manage team development, and build strong relationships with stakeholders to maximisesupport and employment opportunities.

Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Taking Ownership

  • Implementing strategies aimed at upskilling your local community members and overcoming barriers to employment

  • Monitor and manage office and individual performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Working Together

  • Managing, motivating, and directing staff, ensuring they meet and exceed performance targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Overseeing staff development, including performance management,identifyingskills gaps, and coaching/mentoring

  • Maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maximise referrals and participant employment opportunities

Being Fair, Open, and Honest

  • Managing Profit and Loss reports and monthly financial forecasting

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with:
  • Previousdirect line management of a team

  • Experience in a sales, customerserviceor recruitment industry

  • Track recordof working and achieving targets personally as well as managing team targets

  • Experience in people management including training, coaching, performancemanagementand recruitment.

  • Strong administration and IT skills

  • Assertiveness,Resilienceand good Decision-making skills

  • A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma

  • GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification). OR achievement of a Level 2 in Literacy Assessment at interview stage

  • Personal circumstances include willingness to travelwithin the patch(e.g. to meet Progression Coaches/participants/Employers)

  • Willingness to work flexibly and ability to travel across a large region
Desirable Criteria:
  • Interest in people and willingness to learn.

  • Knowledge of welfare/benefits system.

  • Degree or relevant qualification. Degree topics may include; psychology, sociology, social care/science. Relevant qualifications would include Information Advice and Guidance NVQs, Brokerage Standard, Social Work qualifications or qualifications relating to welfare to work.

  • Fluency in more than one language
