As Business Manager to the CEO Office, reporting to the Chief of Staff, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the CEO’s agenda. You will coordinate high-impact initiatives, ensure strategic decisions are actioned effectively, and support the smooth operation of the CEO Office. Working closely with the Chief of Staff, you will also serve as a vital link between the CEO Office and the wider organisation.
Your responsibilities will span executive coordination, stakeholder engagement, and operational oversight. From preparing executive briefings and tracking key projects to supporting governance and cross-functional collaboration, this is a highly visible role that demands discretion, agility, and a proactive mindset.
Key responsibilities include:
Co-ordinate and prepare reports and presentations for the CEO to various stakeholders including the Quilter plc Board. This includes preparing the CEO’s personal report to the Board.
Act as secretariat for the Quilter Executive Committee and other Executive meetings, managing the agenda and inputs to this critical governance forum.
Support the Chief of Staff and CEO in tracking and delivering strategic priorities and OKRs, ensuring alignment across the organisation.
Partner with internal teams to support the communication and implementation of change initiatives driven by the CEO.
Work closely and engage with a wide variety of stakeholders across the business to manage the office of the CEO alongside the CEO’s personal assistant and Chief of Staff. This includes: orchestrating communications and engagement activities, the management of the budget for the CEO Office and the coordination of key governance activities such as Senior Managers & Certification Regime requirements, conflicts of interest management and the annual performance management/objective setting process for the ExCo (in collaboration with the Human Resources team).
Identify, initiate and drive areas of opportunity on behalf of the Chief of Staff and CEO.
Act on the authority of the office of the CEO to provide input into projects core to the strategic agenda of those central to progressing the CEO’s priorities.
Act as representative of the CEO’s Office, enabling communication with other parts of the broader organisation to facilitate strategic alignment of organisational activity and increase Chief of Staff and CEO bandwidth.
Continuously improve internal processes and ways of working to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the CEO Office.
Maintain confidentiality of all information, both from internal and external sources, exercising discretion at all times.
Key skills needed:
Strong analytical thinking with the ability to synthesise complex information and present it clearly and persuasively to senior audiences.
Formal project management experience or certification (e.g. Prince2, PMP, Agile) with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver initiatives on time.
Ability to navigate complex and political environments and manage multiple senior stakeholders with strong influencing skills.
Skilled in writing for influence, including drafting speeches, executive briefings, and thought leadership content.
Strong team player with the ability to build sustainable relationships and the capability to interact and communicate with all levels of the organisation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling materials for the Board and senior audiences.
Credibility, professionalism and strong personal integrity with high resilience.
Strong risk awareness skills and management of risk.
Self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
