Job description

A large UK-wide group of wholesale & distribution businesses are looking for an entrepreneurial and sales-driven Business Manager to join their growing operation. If you're from a strong B2B sales background and are an experienced General Manager, Business Manager or Branch Manager working within a wholesale environment, this could be an excellent career opportunity for you to run your own business with full autonomy.

The group you'll be joining specialises in the distribution of a wide variety of electrical products, such as data cabling, HVAC, lighting, fire and security, test equipment and specialist technical products. Operating under a decentralised structure, managers are given the autonomy to make all-important business decisions, and their achievements are recognised with substantial financial rewards.

Role Responsibilities

As a Business Manager, you will be given the training, tools and knowledge to quickly take on a Business Management role within the group. You'll work closely with existing Business Managers to familiarise yourself with the company, their products, processes and values.

This will prepare you for a Business Manager role where you will:

  • Be responsible for the running of the entire business, including driving sales, full P&L, managing and mentoring employees, marketing, logistics and purchasing
  • Develop and maintain relationships with both new and existing B2B customers such as contractors, installers and industrial clients
  • Ensure the achievement of set targets and objectives
  • Drive sales growth by identifying opportunities to develop company performance and revenue

Requirements

  • Experience in a B2B wholesale or distribution environment (essential)
  • Proven success in a General Manager, Business Manager, or Branch Manager role
  • Ideally, experience working with or selling enterprise infrastructure or technical products such as data cabling, networking, or server systems
  • Strong commercial awareness and sales acumen
  • Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • A hands-on and proactive approach with the ambition to grow and develop a business
