Job summary

Archus is seeking an experienced Business Manager to cover a 12–14 month maternity leave from January 2027. You will report to the Head of People and work closely with the Chief Executive and Directors, ensuring smooth operations across executive support, communications, compliance, health and safety, and IT coordination.

The role offers broad exposure to senior leaders and a real opportunity to shape new initiatives and improve how Archus works from day one.

Qualifications

• Experience in office or business management and executive support to Executive Directors, with an understanding of business management systems.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, working collaboratively with senior stakeholders and handling sensitive information securely and discreetly.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail, balancing priorities and deadlines, analysing information and producing accurate records, documents and reports.
• Confident using Microsoft 365, including SharePoint and Copilot, and managing websites, intranets and internal communications platforms.
• Proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused, able to work independently, manage suppliers and contracts compliantly, and coordinate events, engagement and community initiatives.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are recruiting an experienced Business Manager to cover maternity leave over a period of 12 – 14 months. The successful recruit will be available to join us from January 2027.

You will report into the Head of People, working closely with the Chief Executive, Executive Directors and Heads of Service. You will be responsible in keeping the business running smoothly while driving forward a varied portfolio of operational priorities. From executive support and internal communications to compliance, responsible business, health and safety, and IT coordination, no two days will be the same.

You will become a trusted, highly organised point of contact across the organisation, bringing people and priorities together and making sure important activity moves forward. With broad exposure to senior leaders and teams across Archus, you will have genuine scope to improve how we work, shape new initiatives and make a visible impact from day one.

To be successful in this role you will have the following experience:

We are a healthcare consultancy providing strategic advice directly to government, health care providers and hospital groups. Founded in 2017, we have worked on over 1000 projects to date, supporting healthcare clients in the delivery of multi-million-pound healthcare projects across the UK, Canada and other locations internationally.
