Job summary

Community Integrated Care in Widnes is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to turn data into actionable insight that drives operational excellence and better outcomes for the people we support. You'll work with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and shape our data architecture.

The role focuses on developing Power BI dashboards, data models, and self-service solutions, delivering high-quality analysis and ensuring data governance while staying current with Microsoft BI technologies.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a data-related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of BI or data analyst experience.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Power BI, Power Query, DAX and SQL.
  • Experience developing reports from relational, transactional or data warehouse environments.
  • Excellent understanding of data transformation, modelling and reporting principles.
  • Experience using data to drive service improvement and operational performance.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and data governance best practice.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical requirements.
  • Collect, analyse, interpret and present complex data to a variety of audiences.
  • Develop insightful dashboards, reports and analytical solutions using Power BI.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Maintain and improve existing reporting and BI solutions.
  • Act as a data steward, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Support the development and maintenance of enterprise data models.
  • Create Power BI Dataflows, Datamarts and other self-service BI solutions.
  • Administer the organisation's Power BI Service environment.
  • Implement appropriate security and governance controls within BI solutions.
  • Support system implementations and help ensure data and reporting requirements are embedded from day one.
  • Stay up to date with emerging Microsoft technologies and BI best practice.

This is a full time permanent role with attendance at our head office in Widnes required at least once a week so our ideal candidate will be based within an hours commute of Widnes.

Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in helping the organisation understand performance, identify trends, predict future demand, and uncover opportunities for improvement.

Working closely with stakeholders across the charity, you'll gather requirements, develop innovative reporting solutions, and deliver high-quality analysis that influences decision-making at every level. You'll also help shape our evolving data architecture and ensure our reporting environment remains robust, secure, and fit for the future.

What you'll be doing:

About you:

What we’re looking for:

You’ll be a curious and analytical thinker who enjoys turning data into actionable insight. You will be comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels and explaining technical concepts in a clear and engaging way.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or a related subject OR equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Business Intelligence, Data Analyst or similar role.
  • Strong experience with: Microsoft Power BI,Power Query,DAX, SQL
  • Experience developing reports from relational, transactional or data warehouse environments.
  • Excellent understanding of data transformation, modelling and reporting principles.
  • Experience using data to drive service improvement and operational performance.
  • Basic knowledge of Data Warehousing
  • Understanding of GDPR and data governance best practice.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable:

  • Relevant Microsoft, SQL or Power BI certifications.
  • Experience within social care, HR, recruitment or a regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of machine learning or AI-based analytical techniques.
  • Experience administering Power BI Service.
