Job description
JOB TITLE: Business Intelligence Manager
SALARY: £67,000 - £74,400
LOCATIONS: Bristol and Leeds
HOURS:

Full-time

WORKING PATTERN:

Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

Are you a motivated self-starter with an interest in exploring emerging BI technologies such as Generative BI? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to join the People & Places (P&P) Data Hub as a Data Analytics Manager playing a key role in delivering workforce-based analytical insights that support the People & Places strategy and the wider Group. This is a growing and strategically important area, critical to shaping the future of our workforce and driving the Group's long-term success.

You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, setting direction, leading projects end-to-end, and making day-to-day delivery decisions with little hands‑on support. The role combines technical expertise in Power BI with strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and delivery management.

About the role:
  • Translate complex data into engaging visualizations and Gen BI solutions that support decision‑making across the People & Places landscape
  • Drive the exploration and integration of emerging technologies such as Generative BI into the People & Places strategy to deliver innovative and impactful solutions
  • Continuously enhance and maintain existing solutions within the People & Places portfolio to ensure accuracy, usability, and alignment with business needs
  • Own end-to-end delivery of complex Power BI dashboard & Gen BI, leading projects while being accountable for planning, prioritisation, risk management, and high‑quality visual storytelling standards
  • Shape and evolve the visualisation roadmap aligned to strategic priorities and supporting People and Places initiatives
About you:

We're looking for someone passionate about data, insight, and visual storytelling, with a curious mindset and strong problem‑solving skills. You can translate complex data into clear stories for both technical and non‑technical audiences, while challenging the status quo with fresh, data‑driven approaches to people analytics.

You'll own visualisation projects end to end, balance multiple priorities, collaborate effectively with others, and stay curious about the evolving BI landscape to help shape the People & Places strategy.

What you'll need:
  • Demonstrated expertise in data storytelling, visualization, and dashboard development, with strong proficiency in Tableau and Power BI (highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of Generative BI is a significant advantage
  • Experience working in a data‑driven organization within business analytics, BI, or reporting functions (experience with People Data is advantageous)
  • Comfortable working with large datasets and sourcing data from strategic platforms; experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is preferred
  • Strong willingness to learn new approaches, techniques, and technologies, and to work in an agile, adaptive environment
  • Proven ability to contribute to building and fostering a data‑driven culture within teams
