DESCRIPTION

Have you ever wondered how Amazon delivers so quickly, or if delivery speeds could improve further? In the Amazon EU Placement & Inbound Supply Chain team, we drive innovation to enhance product availability and speed while reducing costs and carbon emissions across the supply chain from Selling Partners. This role offers a unique view into Amazon's Inbound and Inventory Placement systems, processes, and operations, enabling collaboration with planning, operations, and technical teams. You will have the opportunity to simplify our supply chain network to deliver faster and more cost-effectively. If you excel at understanding complex systems and have a proven track record of analyzing data to generate insights and business recommendations at scale, we'd like to talk to you.

This position is based at our UK Headquarters in London.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Build and maintain metrics to evaluate and improve Inbound performance of Selling Partners and Amazon's network.
  2. Create analytical tools and processes to accelerate insights and automation.
  3. Drive inbound and placement strategy improvements using data modeling and analysis to optimize product distribution across Amazon facilities, enhancing selection and reducing distances.
  4. Collaborate with technology teams to define priorities and implement recommendations through new features and configurations.
  5. Research, develop, document, and present new opportunities to Supply Chain, Finance, and Retail leadership.
A day in the life
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence Engineers, Data Scientists, Program or Product Managers, and Finance Analysts to develop effective metrics and tools that meet business goals.
  • Partner with Business and Tech teams to prioritize impactful insights.
  • Explore systems and perform analyses to understand root causes.
  • Scale findings to assess impact and prioritize actions.
  • Conduct data-driven experiments to foster innovation.
  • Perform large-scale analysis with new metrics or statistical models.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Quicksight, or similar.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience in the data/BI space.
  • Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience developing and presenting metrics that improve understanding of business performance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience using SQL for data extraction and scripting (Python) for data processing and modeling.
