Be the Driving Force Behind Our Data Strategy

We’re on the lookout for a Business Intelligence (BI) Manager/Analyst to join our technical team in Plymouth.

This isn’t just a ‘keep the wheels turning’ type of role – it’s a chance to take the lead on transforming how we manage, use, and make decisions with data across the organisation.

If you're someone who loves bringing order to data chaos, thrives on turning figures into real business action, and wants to steer cloud-based projects from the front – keep reading.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll lead everything from modernising our data infrastructure to sharpening how we report and use analytics day to day. Here’s a snapshot of what the job involves:

  1. Take charge of moving our data systems to the cloud – think secure, scalable, and future-ready.
  2. Manage cloud-based data platforms and pipelines.
  3. Make sure everything works like it should by leading testing and decommissioning old systems once the new ones are live.
Data Governance & Quality
  1. Build clear rules and standards so that everyone across the business uses data in the same way.
  2. Set up tools to keep data clean, reliable, and secure.
  3. Stay on top of compliance and keep sensitive data well protected.
Reporting & Insights
  1. Develop reporting tools that give teams the numbers they need, when they need them.
  2. Use Power BI, SQL, Python, and DAX to dig into data and find what matters.
  3. Create dashboards and models that help forecast, plan, and improve performance across the business.
  4. Be the go-to person for anything data-related.
  5. Train and mentor others to improve data literacy company-wide.
  6. Work closely with teams across the business to make sure data meets real-world needs.
  7. Keep an eye out for new tech and trends that can keep us ahead of the game.
Security & Data Collection
  1. Make sure our data collection is accurate and consistent across all systems.
  2. Handle and share data securely – no shortcuts.
  3. Keep detailed audit trails and clear protocols for anything sensitive.
What You’ll Need to Bring
The Right Skills
  1. Expert in Power BI, SQL, Python, and DAX.
  2. Great with data modelling, stats, and visualisation.
  3. Strong background in working with cloud platforms, especially Azure.
Experience That Counts
  1. You’ve led complex data projects before – ideally moving from on-site systems to the cloud.
  2. You’ve got a track record of turning raw data into decisions that matter.
  3. You’ve set up data governance and know how to keep things compliant.
Soft Skills Matter Too
  1. You can explain tricky technical things in a way that makes sense to anyone.
  2. You’re organised, good under pressure, and keep things moving.
  3. You’re a natural mentor and enjoy helping others grow in their skills.
