Job summary

AFL offers a Business Intelligence (BI) Co-Op in the United Kingdom, focusing on reporting, analytics, and data visualization. You will work with Power BI to develop dashboards and reports, support data cleaning and modeling, and deliver insights to enable business decisions.

Three semesters of co-op rotation between AFL and university provide hands-on experience with stakeholders and analytics initiatives, in a role designed for students pursuing STEM and data-oriented degrees.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Data Analytics, MIS, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • Sophomore standing with minimum 2.75 GPA.
  • Willing to commit to three semesters, rotating between AFL and school.
  • Experience with relational databases, data analysis, reporting tools, Power BI, SQL, or a programming language preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with business users to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Support data collection, cleaning, transformation and validation for reliable reporting.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities and actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate data into visualizations and reporting solutions.
  • Assist with data modeling and report design to support decision-making.
  • Help monitor and troubleshoot reporting and data quality issues.
  • Document reporting specs, requirements, processes and data sources.
  • Support continuous improvement with data analysis and performance insights.
  • Learn and apply BI best practices for reporting, analytics and data visualization.

Business Intelligence (BI) Co-Op

The Business Intelligence (BI) Co-Op will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to support AFL's reporting, analytics, and data visualization initiatives. This role is responsible for understanding business reporting needs, translating requirements into meaningful dashboards and reports, and helping deliver data-driven insights that support decision‑making across the organization. Working with tools such as Power BI, the co-op will gain hands‑on experience in report development, data analysis, data modeling, and dashboard creation while supporting operational and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with business users to understand and document reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Support data collection, cleaning, transformation, and validation efforts to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.
  • Analyze business and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with relational databases, data analysis, reporting tools, Power BI, SQL, or a programming language is preferred. Experience may be academic or professional.
  • Interest in business intelligence, data visualization, reporting, and analytics.
