Job summary

A health care organization in Leeds is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to lead the delivery of BI solutions in a collaborative environment. Job description

Thisis a fixed term 22.5 hours per week contract with an end date of 31 March2027.

Weare seeking a dynamic, self-motivated and passionate person with experienceof working in a progressive Business Intelligence environment.

Doyou have experience leading the delivery of BI solutions for organisationswith multiple stakeholders? Deliveringquality assured evidence based insights to inform business decisions?

Canyou provide technical support and data warehouse maintenance? Do you have experience producing selfreporting dashboards in data visualisation environments such as Qlik orTableau?

Therole will develop informatics delivery, ensuring user requirements are metwith accurate and well-presented outputs supporting the NIHR missions toimprove the health and wealth of the nation through research.

Main duties of the job

Ourbusiness intelligence tasks can range in scale from small ad-hoc datarequests to long-term, cross-team projects. As part of a small and friendlyteam your role will allow you to work with the full end-to-end businessintelligence delivery process. Frommeeting stakeholders and understanding requirements, through data modellingand the ETL process, to data visualisation and generating insight - youllget to experience it all!

Mainduties will include working with relational databases with MS SQL server andETL tools such as SSIS. You will alsoperform analysis of data loads and implement data warehouse design theory anddata modelling techniques. Producing reports and data visualisation in Qlikor Tableau using a variety of data sources. Our current data warehouse ison-premise, but there may be the opportunity in the future to move to ahybrid or cloud based approach. Therefore, any experience of Microsoft Azureor Amazon AWS may also be beneficial.

Throughour data scientists, we are exploring and implementing artificialintelligence and machine learning solutions.An enthusiasm for the field of data science, and a desire tocollaborate, and support these projects will also be beneficial.

DataQuality and Evaluation

  • Providereports to an agreed standard to meet the requirements of NIHR AcademyExecutive Board
  • Monitorestablished reporting to ensure data quality and integrity is maintained
  • Evaluateoutputs, formulate and present ideas of future reporting developments
  • Dealwith non-routine enquiries providing advice as necessary
  • Analyseand report on a range of options in order to contribute to decision makingand action planning
  • Providesupport and input into how data quality and integrity can be maintained aspart of business improvement plans

Person Specification
Experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Specialist business intelligence knowledge and expertise acquired through degree level or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Experience of complex data analysis using advanced knowledge of statistics, database design and BI systems tools
  • Understand basic concepts of BI Architecture such as ETL, Data Warehousing and Data Modelling
  • Ability to manipulate, model and analyse data using Excel, SQL, QlikView, Qlik Sense
  • Experience developing reports using data visualisation tools such as QlikView, Qlik Sense, Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience in processes related to data collection, modelling and processing data to maintain a trusted data source
  • Commitment to self development and consideration of options that may improve or provide alternative solutions to existing NIHR Academy technology
  • An understanding of data protection and information governance including GDPR and the importance of reporting standards and report definitions
  • Experience creating ad hoc SQL queries of T-SQL
  • Experience of project management
  • Advanced development and application of google platforms, Microsoft office and databases
