About

A Business Intelligence Analyst is required for a client based in Walsall. The position involves transforming raw data into actionable insights to support business decisions and monitor performance, relying on analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The role includes carrying out the full data analysis lifecycle, such as requirements analysis, data modelling, metric creation, and front-end report development. Responsibilities also include supporting the technical approach for business intelligence reporting and maintaining existing reports. The analyst will work to streamline reports and enhance data integrity across the organisation while demonstrating accountability in decision-making.

Key skills and responsibilities:
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Excel, Power BI, and DAX.
  • Solid knowledge of T-SQL, with experience writing complex queries and developing stored procedures.
  • Deep understanding of databases, query optimisation, load monitoring, the Microsoft BI Stack, and ETL frameworks.
  • Technical expertise in data mining, auditing, and segmentation.
  • Experience building reusable data models, especially with customer or asset data.
  • Skilled in processing and cleaning raw data for analysis.
  • Strong analytical abilities, including experience with performance data and advanced visualisation skills.
  • Proven capability in conducting UAT to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to translate complex datasets into meaningful insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Snowflake or Databricks.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships across organisational levels.
  • Ability to understand stakeholder requirements and design effective reports.
