Business Information Security Officer

Location: Luton/Hybrid

Team

The Digital Safety Team ensures easyJet’s data is safe and secure, managing day-to-day operations, governance, risk, and compliance related to cybersecurity and data security.

Job Purpose

This role is part of the BISO team, managing relationships between the Digital Safety team and the business. The BISO supports strategic information security initiatives, advises business leaders, and ensures compliance with security policies and legislation. The role requires effective communication of security requirements in business language and building trusted relationships with stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Build relationships and provide strategic advice to align business practices with information security requirements.
  2. Promote a positive security culture within the business and encourage participation in security initiatives.
  3. Develop solutions balancing business needs with security controls, reducing friction while achieving security outcomes.
  4. Support departments in improving security controls through business case development.
  5. Act as liaison during security incidents, ensuring appropriate actions and communication.
  6. Manage security risks, maintain risk registers, and report findings to relevant forums.
  7. Ensure data privacy requirements are met in collaboration with the Data Protection Officer.
  8. Stay informed about security risks, trends, and legislation impacting the business.
  9. Report on security performance, risks, and improvements to senior stakeholders.

Key Skills

  • Experience in Information Security Management and a broad understanding of IT concepts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across technical and business teams.
  • Experience in risk management related to information security and IT.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and mediation skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Analytical skills to interpret and present information clearly.
  • High ethical standards and integrity; willingness to undergo security vetting.
  • Experience in aviation or regulated environments is desirable but not essential.
