Job Description

Business HR Manager

  • Located in the Maidenhead office with some visits to the Marlow office
  • Reporting directly to the UK HR Director
  • 2 Direct Reports (HR Advisors)

The Business HR Manager will work as part of the Business HR Team in the UK and pro-actively support the business in obtaining its strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Serves as a strategic partner to the business, developing HR strategies and partnering with divisional leadership teams to ensure the organisation is appropriately resourced to support the business strategy both now and in the future
  • Attracts, develops and retains the best Talent within the divisions supported as well as driving employee engagement
  • Reinforces AbbVie culture at all times, and always acts with the highest integrity
  • Partners with Centers of Excellence to implement programs, frameworks and processes aligned to the business specific needs
  • Responsible for ensuring the effective “delivery” of all HR programs with relevant client groups (e.g. Employee Engagement Survey action planning, End of Year Calibration meetings etc)
  • Establish peer to peer stakeholder relationships within client groups and beyond to effectively drive and lead talent management, employee relations issues, development and culture etc
  • Additional responsibility / area of special interest is leadership development. Leading a team to design and deliver leadership development programs across the affiliate according to the business needs (this includes the Abbvie Early Talent Programme, Senior Leader development programmes and above country leadership projects)
  • Comply with the company’s policies and procedures to meet statutory, quality and business requirements within the overall strategy and objectives of AbbVie Ltd
  • Carry out other duties as and when required by the HR Director

Qualifications

  • Ability to demonstrate experience of BHR activities in a large company environment with a proven track record in performance management, employee relations, cultural change and internal consultancy skills.
  • Ability to work well with multi-functional teams across all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience of designing Leadership Development Strategies and overseeing their roll out
  • Pharmaceutical or Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • CIPD qualified.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
