Job summary

INTE Modular seeks a General Manager to translate strategy into day‑to‑day execution across manufacturing, project delivery and commercial coordination. You will lead safety, quality and schedule adherence while managing budgets and cross‑functional teams in a hands‑on role across office, shop floor and project sites.

The role requires strategic judgment, operational excellence and strong leadership to deliver projects on time, within budget and to high quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Executive Leadership and Business Planning: Work with the CEO to develop annual plans, budgets and targets.
  • Translate strategic objectives into departmental plans with timelines and measurable results.
  • Provide the CEO with timely reporting on performance, risks, decisions and actions.
  • Lead management meetings and ensure cross‑functional alignment across teams.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day manufacturing and operations with safety, quality and cost accountability.
  • Align backlog with production schedules, labour, materials and capacity.
  • Establish operating procedures, dashboards and escalation paths for performance.
  • Identify constraints, waste and delays; drive root‑cause analysis and actions.
  • Lead Lean continuous improvement and standard work initiatives.
  • Oversee modular project delivery from handoff to closeout with governance.
  • Review project status, forecasts, WIP, changes and cash‑flow impacts with leaders.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, suppliers and teams.
  • Escalate material risks and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Manage budgets with the CEO and finance, ensuring profitability and cash discipline.
  • Review financials and ensure commitments have appropriate scope and terms.
  • Identify opportunities to improve gross margin.

Job details

Reporting directly to the CEO, the General Manager is the senior operating leader responsible for translating company strategy into coordinated day-to-day execution. The role provides leadership across manufacturing operations, project delivery, resource and capacity planning, commercial coordination, financial performance, quality, safety, and organizational effectiveness, with accountability for business results within delegated authority. The General Manager will establish clear priorities, strengthen management systems, resolve cross-functional bottlenecks, and ensure that projects and manufactured modules are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will combine strategic judgment with visible, hands-on leadership in the office, manufacturing facility, and project environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Executive Leadership and Business Planning Work with the CEO to develop and execute annual business and operating plans, budgets, growth priorities, capacity plans, and performance targets.
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear departmental plans, accountabilities, timelines, and measurable results.
  • Provide the CEO with timely, accurate reporting on business performance, operational risks, major decisions, and corrective actions.
  • Lead management meetings, follow through on commitments, and ensure alignment across sales, estimating, design/engineering, procurement, manufacturing, project delivery, finance, human resources, and administration.
  • Manufacturing and Operational Management Oversee the day-to-day performance of manufacturing and assigned operational functions, with clear accountability for safety, productivity, schedule reliability, quality, cost, and output.
  • Align sales backlog and project commitments with master production schedules, labour, equipment, materials, floor capacity, logistics, and subcontracted work.
  • Establish practical operating procedures, workflow controls, escalation paths, and dashboards for safety, quality, productivity, schedule, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Identify production constraints, waste, rework, delays, and recurring failures; lead root‑cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Lead continuous improvement practices, including standard work, visual management, 5S, root‑cause problem‑solving, and Lean methods appropriate to the business.
  • Project Delivery and Cross‑Functional Coordination Oversee multiple modular construction projects from contract handoff through design release, procurement, fabrication, logistics, site installation, commissioning, deficiency resolution, and closeout.
  • Establish clear project governance and stage‑gate controls so scope, schedule, budget, quality requirements, responsibilities, design releases, and key decisions are actively managed.
  • Review project status, cost‑to‑complete forecasts, work‑in‑progress, changes, procurement constraints, cash‑flow impacts, risks, and recovery plans with project and functional leaders.
  • Ensure timely coordination among clients, consultants, architects, engineers, general contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, site teams, and internal departments.
  • Escalate material risks promptly and ensure corrective actions are assigned, documented, and completed.
  • Financial and Commercial Performance Develop and manage operating budgets with the CEO and finance function, with accountability for P&L performance within delegated authority, cost control, margin protection, cash discipline, and profitability.
  • Review financial and operational reports, job costs, work‑in‑progress, labour utilization, purchasing performance, change‑order exposure, and forecast‑to‑complete information.
  • Support bid/no‑bid and contract‑review decisions, and ensure major commitments are supported by appropriate scope, pricing, capacity, commercial terms, risk review, and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve gross margin.
