Our power team works throughout Australasia on iconic projects that are shaping the energy transition journey to net-zero carbon emissions. We deliver innovative technical solutions to our clients in high voltage power generation, transmission, and distribution.

The Opportunity

This newly created role will be the market-facing leader of Beca’s Power / Energy (Transmission) business in Victoria, with significant scope to work with key strategic Transmission clients such as AusNet and VicGrid, and related clients to grow this technical discipline in the region.

By building on our current successes, you will lead and grow Beca’s client activities and relationships across the region by advocating for our clients to enhance and support their growth and delivery of their strategic plans.

Based in Melbourne and reporting to the General Manager, Power, these are the key responsibilities of the role :

  1. Build on and carry out Beca’s Power / Energy Strategy and articulate this across Beca and the Victorian Power / Energy market.
  2. Be the trusted advisor with key client stakeholders and sponsors within the region.
  3. Strengthen existing connections and build relevant new relationships across the Victorian market.
  4. Partner internally with other adjacent Business Directors and Managers within Beca on common strategies and goals.
  5. Play a key role in market segment planning - identifying potential growth revenue sources and blue-sky opportunities throughout Victoria.
  6. Network within the Power / Energy industry to raise Beca’s profile in our delivery of key projects, including generating new business opportunities and representing Beca in a variety of forums.
  7. Champion the Victorian sector market, identifying market trends to guide investment on Power / Energy transition actions or tools.
  8. Contribute to the development of best-in-class business development and marketing collateral to make Beca the go-to consultant for the market.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced leader with a background in the Power Transmission or related industry, and strong experience in consulting. You thrive when faced with ambiguity and overcoming obstacles by recognizing long-term opportunities.

As a relationship builder, you can initiate, manage, and develop strategic and operational relationships internally and externally to influence and coordinate people and skillsets to effect positive change for our communities, people, and clients. You embrace challenges, promote innovation, and lead with a mindset of continual improvement, connecting the Beca network to bring the best of our business to the region.
