WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, 9:30 - 17:30 with 1 hour lunch break

SALARY: c£14.00 per hour Plus holiday pay £1.70 - £2.20 (your holiday allowance will increase from the 13th week)

START: from early September 2024 to the end of March 2025 (with view of renewal at the end of March each year)

LOCATION: City of London (5 days office work)

Business Development Assistant Main Responsibilities:

  1. Identifying and approaching start-up local companies, especially in the fields of carbon neutrality and digital transformation, that are interested in expanding their business to Japan or collaborating with Japanese companies, arranging meetings, introducing their support services, taking minutes, following up, managing projects, and responding to enquiries from companies about entering the Japanese market
  2. Liaison and coordination with the department in charge at Headquarters (Tokyo)
  3. Assist in building links with other relevant organisations to help identify UK companies interested in investing in Japan
  4. Support for other tasks that need to be handled by the Team

Business Development Assistant Ideal Candidate:

  1. Solid skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Salesforce
  2. Native level English and Japanese language for internal record, written and spoken
  3. A good understanding of social, cultural and business practices in the UK and are able to work in a way that builds trust with UK companies
  4. Flexible, sociable and cooperative, with excellent language, communication and summarisation skills
  5. Information-gathering and strong networking skills
  6. Reliable person, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks during busy periods
