Location: Hybrid – 2 office days (Nottingham) / 3 home days per week, with client travel as required

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: £40,000+ per annum (DOE) plus up to 20% OTE

Start Date: As soon as possible

Drive growth. Build partnerships. Make an impact in FMCG.

We’re looking for a proactive and commercially focused Business Development Specialist to drive client acquisition and revenue growth across the FMCG sector. You’ll be responsible for developing new business opportunities, converting prospects from our pipeline, and strengthening long-term client relationships that deliver measurable results.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Driving new business growth through proactive outreach, warm pipeline conversion, and re-engaging lapsed FMCG clients.
  • Owning the end-to-end sales process – from identifying opportunities and pitching to closing deals and onboarding clients.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with FMCG brands, retailers, and key decision-makers to secure ongoing business.
  • Collaborating with marketing and client services to deliver high-impact retail and field campaigns that exceed client KPIs.
  • Preparing proposals, tenders, and presentations that clearly demonstrate ROI and commercial value.
  • Analysing performance data to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Expanding our digital presence (especially on LinkedIn) to engage prospects and showcase success stories.
  • Visiting clients and stores to stay close to market trends, in-store execution, and competitor activity.

About you:

  • Proven success in a business development or B2B sales role – ideally within FMCG, retail, or a related industry.
  • A growth-focused mindset – confident generating leads, building relationships, and closing opportunities.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a consultative approach to identifying and solving client challenges.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Organised, driven and resilient – comfortable managing multiple prospects and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Excel (for reporting) and PowerPoint (for client presentations).
  • FMCG or retail experience highly desirable.

What we offer:

  • Hybrid working (home & Nottingham office).
  • Competitive base salary plus up to 20% OTE.
  • The opportunity to work with leading FMCG brands on exciting, high-profile campaigns.
  • A supportive, ambitious team where your performance is recognised and rewarded.
  • Clear progression opportunities in FMCG business development and client management.

We will be reviewing applications and conducting interviews on a rolling basis while the advert remains live, so early applications are strongly encouraged.
