Business Development Project Manager Mechanical Bias (Maternity Cover 18 months) Cambridgeshire £Neg

A successful manufacturer near Cambridge, providing bespoke products and solutions to various industries and developing new markets globally, is seeking a Business Development Project Manager for maternity cover. Supporting the Senior Manager, you will manage the day-to-day running of all commercial project-related matters, involving stakeholders and third-party sub-contractors, promoting strong and positive relations across all operations within the business.


Key responsibilities include:
  • Establish and maintain a standard of performance that supports the strategic vision for the management of commercial projects.
  • Manage and control specifications, including the release and updating processes internally, with customers, and suppliers.
  • Utilize Gantt charts or equivalent tools for sales project management timelines to ensure projects meet target completion dates.
  • Obtain project specification sign-off and acceptance from all relevant participants, including customers.
  • Manage and drive the design of packaging and artwork tasks within various customer and supplier-facing projects.
  • Ensure proper management of Engineering Change Requests related to commercial projects, including supporting processes and procedures.
  • Support Sales and Marketing teams on sales projects, including project management of various commercial initiatives.
  • Complete and review reports by deadlines, highlighting critical actions and escalating when necessary.
  • Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and tidy work environment in line with the company's Health & Safety policy and housekeeping standards.

You should possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, be diligent, self-driven, detail-oriented, and a team player. The ability to multi-task, adapt to work processes, and proficiency in project management are essential. Knowledge of engineering drawings, such as SolidWorks or CAD, would be beneficial.
